If SEO is so important, why are there so many sites that don't
even have any meta tags? Good question. The answer to that must lie with the individual
designer who delivers what he is commissioned to do: build a
beautiful site. That's why we guarantee in our contract that we
will take care of SEO. It's part of our job.
On what do you place more
importance, Search Engine Optimization
or the attractiveness of
the site? We treat both aspects of web development as important and
integral parts. While it is true that a beautiful site - a vanity
site - can be completely useless in terms of profit if the search
engines are unable to find it, and conversely a badly constructed
site that ranks high in the search engines will, whether it is
very pleasing to the eye, generate at least some money - we
consider it important to build sites that are attractive as well
as optimized.
What if I hire you but I am not happy with the design? We work with you in getting you what you want. Obviously, you
will want a design that fits the purpose of your site, i.e. a site
that tries to move office supplies will have a different feel than
a site that showcases grand pianos. There is a certain atmosphere
that has to be right for the particular kind of site the client
has in mind, and we work with all our clients together on this.
Who will be the owner of the site? You will be the owner. We register the site in your
name.
Why would a small business need a website at all? A short answer to this is another question: why would a small
business have a Yellow Page ad? In the Yellow Pages, it is usually
the biggest ad that attracts the most responses (negligible, by the way),
whereas on the Web everybody is created equal. No one can tell how
many employees you have, if you operate out of a high-rise office building
or your Aunt Beatrice's garage, if your walls are studded with diplomas or
if you you learned your stuff on the fly while volunteering in a village
one summer in Mozambique. Another obvious drawback is that a yellow
page ad, or an ad in any publication, is usually strictly local.
Someone in Minneapolis isn't going to see your ad in the Miami Herald for
your delicious chocolate truffles. The web acts as a local and
international directory. It is therefore a misconception that
websites benefit mostly large corporations. The fact is, you could
be losing business without even knowing it.
